Position Summary

HMTX Industries is seeking an accounting professional to join our North America Finance Team. The Accountant is responsible for a variety of duties, including, but not limited to: general ledger accounting, account analysis and account reconciliations, recording transactions and journal entries, assisting with the monthly record-to-report process, assisting with financial reporting, recording major customer remittances, marketing allowances, and deductions, cash activity, reconciling intercompany accounts, generating and distributing accounts receivable aging reports and assisting in collection follow-up's, generating various general ledger and Tableau reports, assist with governmental filings, providing external audit/lender review/inventory appraisal support. There is significant interaction with other departments, both in North America as well as overseas. The ideal candidate is a strong team player, has a keen attention to detail and consistently works with a mindset of continuous improvement and growth.

Roles & Responsibilities * General ledger accounting, account reconciliations and analysis. Reconciliations are to be completed in a timely, accurate and fully descriptive manner, including tying out the reconciliation with the related income statement activity.

  • Assist in the monthly record-to-report process.
  • Generate and analyze accounts receivable and aging reports; assist with follow-up's with customers to resolve issues.
  • Monitor and record major customer remittances, marketing allowances, and deductions. Inform finance management and key stakeholders on issues, status, and resolution.
  • Record accounting transactions and journal entries to the general ledger (commissions, management fees, depreciation and amortization, prepaid expenses, etc.).
  • Record and reconcile intercompany activity, confirming all balances no less than monthly. Coordination of intercompany activity and reconciliations.
  • Generate bank reports and analyze daily cash activity.
  • Assist with external audits, lender reviews and inventory appraisals.
  • Assist with compiling data for various governmental and statutory reporting.
  • Support income tax process by compiling requested information to tax counsel.
  • Adhere to all deadlines and due dates, including the monthly record-to-report calendar.
  • Continuously review processes and procedures in order to streamline, enhance and automate. Act in the capacity of “champion” in this regard.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors or Graduate Degree with a concentration in accounting, CPA is a plus.
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting and finance, preferable in public accounting and/or in a mid to large size distribution company.
  • Advanced level skills in all Microsoft Office applications (EXCEL, WORD, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Solid US GAAP knowledge, financial reporting principles and practices.
  • Ultimate attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ability to adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Able to function at a high level in a global, fast-paced, and 'continuous improvement' environment.
