Job Overview

In this role you will own the general ledger for assigned accounts within Komatsu America Corp's captive finance business (Komatsu Finance). The Accountant will support both finance and operations team members with a focus on driving accurate accounting and reporting, sustainable process improvements, resolving business challenges and assisting with evaluating and addressing the impact of new business initiatives. This role has high visibility to all aspects of the Komatsu Finance business unit.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate accounting for assigned accounts, including preparation of journal entries and monthly account reconciliations.
  • Support the operations team by providing actionable data and reporting to be used in making key business decisions.
  • Assist with identifying and driving automation throughout the Komatsu Finance accounting and operational processes.
  • Prepare periodic financial statements and supporting schedules for both internal and external reporting purposes.
  • Partner with the operations team to administer Komatsu America Corp's floor plan and open accounts receivable.
  • Own the accounting and reporting for Komatsu Finance's cash pooling activities.
  • Identify and support accounting and operational process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests.
  • Prepare SOX controls.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 1-2 years of progressive accounting and or financial analysis experience.
  • Good leadership, communication and organization skills.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP.
  • InfoLease and SAP experience a plus.
  • Ability to work without constant direction and communicate with and understand non-accounting focused individuals and processes.
  • Intermediate or better PC skills, including common office software.
  • Committed to meeting established deadlines.
