Roberts Wesleyan College invites candidates to apply for full-time or part-time (11 month; tenure-track optional) faculty positions for one of the first entry-level OTD Programs in New York State launched fall semester 2021. Adjunct positions are also available. As part of the founding faculty, candidates will have significant creative development opportunities that will impact the enduring character of the OTD program. Faculty members' distinctive investment in our innovative program will shape students for years to come and will have a lasting impact on the OT profession. The Occupational Therapy program is housed in the School of Natural and Social Sciences on the park-like campus in Rochester, New York (upstate), providing the program with the advantages of a suburban setting within a vibrant metropolitan area.
Roberts is an independent, coeducational liberal arts college in the Christian tradition with approximately 1900 students. Faculty enjoy collegiality that promotes a flexible and family-friendly workplace. Our candidate OTD program is faith-based, rooted in occupational justice, and immersed in occupation-based participation and innovative growth to develop entry-level clinicians that are prepared to engage in leadership, emerging practice, entrepreneurship, and lifelong learning.
Required qualifications include an academic doctoral degree (OTD, PhD, EdD, or other related doctoral degree), licensure or license-eligible in New York State, and certification eligible by NBCOT. Candidates with at least two years of clinical practice experience as an occupational therapist with prior academic experience are strongly preferred. Opportunity to serve as Academic Fieldwork Coordinator may be available in future. Successful candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to the integration of Christian faith and professional practice and a willingness to support the College’s Christian mission and identity. Candidates must demonstrate an appreciation for the principles of diversity and belonging. Racially or ethnically minoritized candidates are especially encouraged to apply as well as persons from other historically underrepresented groups
Faculty are responsible for teaching and scholarship in their area(s) of expertise, aligning with the department mission, program objectives, strategic plan, curricular philosophy, and design, and in compliance with requirements of Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) Standards.
Salary and rank are commensurate with education and experience. Support available for relocation. Interested candidates should send a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, and a completed Application for RWC Faculty Employment (download at /) to:
