Sutter Medical Center Santa Rosa is located in the heart of Northern California's famous wine country, just 50 miles north of San Francisco and 30 minutes from the beautiful Pacific Coast. Centers of excellence include: Interventional Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, Women's and Children's Services, and Level III NICU.
Under the direction of the Clinical Nutrition Supervisor, the Clinical Dietitian is responsible for clinical inpatient and outpatient nutrition care. Duties include nutrition assessment, identification of nutrition problems, recommendation and provision of medical nutrition therapy to meet patient's goals.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Nutrition and Dietetics or related field.
Master's degree preferred.
LICENSURES & CERTIFICATIONS:
Registered Dietitian - RD required.
EXPERIENCE:
Current clinical dietitian experience in acute-care hospital required, with generalized medical-surgical experience.
Geriatrics and adult experience required.
Pediatric experience (neonatal, infant, toddler, school age, teen) experience preferred.
Outpatient/clinical counseling experience preferred.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
General nutrition principles.
Diet therapy for disease states.
Nutrition support principles.
Education methods.
General psychology.
Assessment of nutritional status of adult and geriatric patients required.
Assessment of neonates and pediatric populations desired.
Ability to read/write/speak English required. Bilingual verbal skills desirable.
Ability to meet established deadlines and multi-task in an environment of frequent interruptions.
Ability to work in self-directed manner, with attention to detail and accuracy required.
Strong communication skills required for patient education, problem solving and multidisciplinary team interactions.
Basic computer skills required.
