We are seeking a dependable CNC Programmer/Machinist to program, set-up, and operate machining equipment to perform required machining operations on 2nd shift (3:00pm - 11:00pm). The starting rate for this position is $24.84/hour and goes up to $28.60/hour, plus a shift premium of $0.70/hour. Essential Functions: * Perform the required duties in accordance safety guidelines and lean principles by complying with all safety procedures and all company policies.
Without technical supervision, performs the most complex machining of parts and tools, typically on one or more machines, and can be relied upon to handle difficult assignments.
Programs CNC machining equipment.
Set-up and operate machining equipment to perform milling, drilling, threading, sawing and boring operations on materials.
Performs daily tasks to produce parts, including but not limited to, loading/unloading equipment, gathering materials/components, positioning work area and setting parameters.
Skillfully uses all machinist hand tools and measuring instruments to perform inspection of parts.
Understands and comprehends all forms of technical documents including blueprints and drawings, written specifications, charts, tables, etc. to ensure components are being manufactured in accordance with the part specification.
Ability to complete all tasks of set up technician/operator.
Trains regular and/or temporary employees in department processes. At this level, will serve as a technical resource for set up technicians/operators.
Completes various types of paperwork related to production reporting.
Maintains work areas by cleaning and organizing the space and equipment.
Actively participates in company-sponsored training programs.
Performs key roles in TIB reporting, HPT participation.
Deals ethically with Parker's customers, suppliers, fellow associates and the general public.
Completes additional duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications: * High School Diploma or G.E.D, trade school or additional certification preferred.
Minimum of 3 years previous machining experience required, 5 + years preferred including experience with programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Completing and passing the written assessment and hands on testing related to the position
Mechanical aptitude
Understanding of G-Code programming
Ability to read and interpret a variety of documents such as blue prints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Possess math skills as necessary to perform core functions of the role.
Basic computer skills required.
Understanding of gauging / measuring devices required.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions to complete tasks.
Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multitask and organize work/priorities
Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
Physical Demands/Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to hear and speak. The employee must regularly stand, walk, sit and use hands to grasp and handle. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 40 lbs. The employee will regularly bend, stoop, and stretch handling parts/objects in various situations. Specific vision requirements include close vision, ability to focus, and depth perception. This position may be exposed to oils, dirt, fumes and moving equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
