Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a CNC Programmer to join the AFCO Team in Farmingdale, NY. The AP100 programmer is responsible for creating and maintaining NC punch and laser programs for the plant.
What Will You Do?
Create programs using AP100 for new and existing parts
Create set up sheets for NC punch and laser operators
Create and maintain an organized library of programs that operators can easily navigate
Daily collaboration with production planning to review upcoming production orders for the purposes of consolidating parts and creating dynamic nested programs to optimize material usage
Adjust production orders in ERP system (SAP) to reflect any material usage and material run time changes
Prove out new programs, ensuring programs maximize tool life while maintaining part accuracy
Make recommendations for standardizing AP100 settings
Make recommendations for changes to part designs to optimize for running on punches/laser
Make recommendations regarding standard tool load for the NC turret punches to help maximize production efficiency
Qualifications
Required Skills
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is required
Basic shop math and mechanical aptitude is required
Basic computer skills (i.e., use of email and Microsoft Office products) is required
Prefrerred Skills
Proficient in SolidWorks is preferred
Ability to set up and operate Amada NC turret punches and fiber laser is preferred
