Description:
Provides professional dietetic services to the Food Service Department; confers with medical staff to develop therapeutic diets and nutritional standards of care; provides nutrition education to patients, families, and other personnel; maintains nutritional care policies, procedures, and related records/reports. Completes nutrition assessments for patients identified at nutritional risk. Interviews patients to obtain pertinent information to make a clinical nutrition assessment; obtains diet history/food preferences, and calculates therapeutic meal plans. Serves as a nutrition resource for hospital staff and the community; conducts nutrition classes, and maintain related educational materials and diet manuals. Advises Food Service personnel in planning, preparing, and serving modified diets to patients. Assists in the preparation of master menus for regular/special diets. Implements mechanisms for management of therapeutic diets. Evaluates Food Services in regard to the standards of accreditation; provides recommendations to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
. Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics with completed internship; current licensure in the State of Illinois as a Registered Dietitian; a minimum of one year clinical dietetics experience preferred. Demonstrated communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Work is of light demand with routine lifting requirement up to 25 pounds. Standing, sitting, walking, bending, and reaching required.
