About the Risk Team
The Chief Risk Office (CRO) within DWS is an independent function responsible for protecting the business as well as being a trusted adviser and partner for supporting sustainable business growth. CRO is responsible for ensuring that DWS meets its regulatory and contractual commitments as well as the expectations of clients, shareholders and regulators that the organisation “does what is right rather than just what is allowed”. CRO seeks to protect DWS against losses and reputational damage, through effective oversight and advice, underpinned by an exemplary risk culture.
CRO has been designed to balance the need for alignment with the DWS business whilst maintaining independence and strong relationships with DB Group key control functions.
The CRO governance structure supports a holistic risk and control view. This ability for the control groups to work together seamlessly allows for effective and timely advice to our stakeholders and partners and effective decision making thereby managing the risks, and supporting the sustainable growth, of a world leading asset manager.
The Fiduciary Market Risk Team (within the Fiduciary Investment Risk Management Department) is in charge of establishing a robust fiduciary market risk management framework for the DWS Product Platform to ensure regulatory compliance across all jurisdictions as well as to challenge and guide the Investment Platform to ultimately meeting the fiduciary duty with DWS investors. The team is responsible to set principles and robust governance for products market risk oversight, including monitoring and escalation procedures, risk model maintenance and model enhancements, products market risk profile as well as market risk policies and procedures.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Review and enhance the market risk management program for DWS US-managed products
Contribute to the development and maintenance of the new US market risk regulatory program (new rule 18f-4)
Support the development and maintenance of global governance frameworks across the DWS product ranges and regulation spectrum
Contribute to local and global projects on market risk aspects working closely with Risk teams and other DWS Divisions
Support the development of tools to automate and operationalize risk measurement, monitoring and escalation processes
Contribute to decision-making and approval processes through detailed risk analyses and product reviews
Review new and existing products to identify potential sources of market risk
Your Skills & Experience:
University degree preferably in Mathematics / Statistics / Quantitative Finance / Physics, or the like
Up to 2 years of relevant experience in the asset management industry either on Risk and/or Portfolio Management teams
Previous experience with data analysis and/or financial analytics is considered a plus
Sound knowledge of the main asset classes, financial instruments, and risk factors
Strong analytical skills
Programming skills (e.g., Python, SQL, etc.) are considered a plus
Knowledge of regulations applicable to mutual funds and ETFs is considered a plus
Strong communication skills and desire to work on an international and dynamic team
