Job Information

Cordelia Fire Protection District in Solano County, California, is seeking candidates for multiple Resident Firefighter vacancies. The program is designed to provide work experience for individuals pursuing a career in emergency services.

Under the general supervision of a company officer, Resident Firefighters provide emergency medical care, fire suppression, and rescue services. This is an opportunity for new candidates to gain work experience with an all-risk agency that provides unique training and promotion opportunities. Residents are required to commit to one 24-hour shift per week, with the opportunity to work additional days for those seeking more experience. Compensation is $25 per shift.

Requirements:

  • Valid State of California Emergency Medical Technician EMT certification
  • CPR/AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers (BLS) certification
  • Valid CPAT (Candidate Physical Abilities Test) within the last 12 months
  • California Driver's License
  • High School Diploma or GED
Highly Desirable:
  • California State Paramedic
  • Firefighter Academy
  • Military Background
  • Bi-lingual
