The Human Resources Director originates and leads LSI’s Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performing culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment and the recruitment and ongoing development of the LSI workforce.
The Human Resources Director will coordinate the implementation of Human Resources services, policies and programs that align with LSI’s core mission and values ensuring company compliance with all existing Federal, State, or local employment laws.
The ideal candidate for this role should have outstanding people skills, possess a high work ethic, excellent communication skills, knowledge of labor regulations and regulatory compliance, strategic thinking abilities, strong organizational skills and excellent interpersonal skills. The HR Director should improve HR processes, implement strategies that support LSI’s Business growth, improve morale and employee retention, enhance safety and wellness, strengthen relations between staff and employers, manage job satisfaction, attract top talent and promote the organization’s values.
Essential Functions
Primary Responsibilities
Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organizations goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention; Oversee exit interviews with departing employees.
Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support LSI’s HR compliance and strategy needs.
Develop, analyze and update the company’s performance evaluation program.
Facilitate the consistent application, implementation and improvement of HR policies, processes and programs (company compensation program, performance and talent management, recognition programs, training & development, employee engagement, OSHA, benefits, productivity, etc.).
Provide coaching and guidance to senior leaders, managers and employees around all aspects of performance management including feedback, goal setting, and annual performance reviews.
Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management including the writing and posting of job ads.
Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organizations human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system.
Monitors and ensures the organizations compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to update employee handbook and communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
Conducts annual salary surveys and develops, implements and manages the company’s salary budget in coordination with the Finance Manager.
Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff.
Performs other duties as required.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position manages the staff within the Human Resources department and is responsible for the daily workflow, performance management and hiring of the employees within the department. This position also provides expert knowledge and coaching guidance to all levels of management within Learning Sciences International.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, copier, fax and phones.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Longer hours, evenings and weekend work may be necessary on occasion.
Travel
This position may require some travel.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Masters degree preferred.
At least 8-10 years of Human Resource Management experience required; Director level experience preferred
SPHR, SHRM-CP required; SHRM-SCP preferred
Predictive Index Talent Optimization Certification highly preferred
Proven experience implementing HR systems and aligning company KPI’s
