IT System Analyst is a customer-facing individual capable of executing projects in the OSIsoft PI space in a technical lead capacity. This individual will be responsible for coordinating with customer site contacts and implementing OSI solutions in a challenging real-time process environment. The IT Systems Analyst must be able to quickly troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Project execution tasks include the installation and configuration of complete OSIsoft PI systems. This ranges from the initial PI Server Installation to the configuration of data collection from a wide variety of possible 3rd party data sources. This individual must have prior experience utilizing PI Organizational and Visualization tools such as PI Asset Framework and PI Vision.

He/she shall be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing the configurations and/or custom software components necessary to meet the project requirements for the projects to which he/she is assigned.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Installation, configuration, and maintenance of new or existing OSIsoft PI systems
  • PI Tag and Asset Framework Configuration
  • PI Data Analyzation/Visualization utilizing PI Asset Framework and PI Vision
Mandatory Qualifications:
  • OSIsoft PI System Infrastructure Specialist and PI System Installation specialist.
  • 5-7 years of extensive experience in OSIsoft PI Historian installation, configuration, and support.
  • Experience working with PI Data Archive 2010, 2012, 2016R2, 2017, and 2018SP3 versions with knowledge of data archive migration from legacy versions to the new version.
  • Solid understanding of the Utility industry and its principles with a focus on distribution engineering.
  • Experience in setting up SCADA systems, Real-time systems and connecting the Real-time systems with the PI systems to populate the data into PI systems
  • Having experience with integrating the PI system with Client SCADA system which includes installation of the interface, interface configuration, and setting up PI points and tuning.
  • Installation of PI System in a High Availability configuration and setting up interfaces with Failover configuration.
  • Having experience with PI Interfaces such as Client PI-OPC, PI-PI, PI-DNP3, PI-RDBMS, PI-Modbus, and PI-UFL.
  • Experience with PI Asset Framework, PI Analyses, PI Event Frames, and PI Notifications.
  • Setting up of fresh PI AF Server and replicating the AF Databases and AF Models from other enterprise PI Systems,
  • Building Models in AF structure and maintaining the models across different PI systems.
  • Experience developing PI Notifications-based AF modeled event frames.
  • Experience installing and configuring PI client software including ProcessBook and DataLink
  • Experience working with PI Developer technologies like PI OLEDB Enterprise, PI ODBC, PI AF SDK, PI WebAPI, and development of custom utilities using these technologies
  • Experience developing custom applications using Microsoft .Net technology (C#, ASP.NET) and AF SDK.
  • Analyzing and resolving the production support issues in a 24x7 environment.
  • Providing value-added solutions for process improvement.
  • Has experience in capturing business requirements from the business, working with IT development teams in implementing solutions
Skills/Experience
  • Asset Framework (AF) expert, with a comprehensive understanding of AF Analysis, Event Frames, Notifications, and the ability to troubleshoot associated issues
  • Experience creating and manipulating Attributes in AF
  • Experience with the installation, configuration, and monitoring of OSIsoft PI System servers, interfaces, and user tools.
  • Experience as a system administrator of OSIsoft's PI System.
  • Experience with OSIsoft PI System tag creation, tag monitoring, and tag maintenance.
  • Experience with performance optimization and monitoring system health for the OSIsoft PI System
  • Experience with the creation and modification of notifications using OSIsoft's PI Notifications
  • Installation, configuration, and lifecycle management of the full OSIsoft PI product suite
  • Willing to keep up with and learn the ever-evolving OSIsoft Product Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication ability
  • High problem-solving ability
  • High technical knowledge of the OSIsoft PI Product Suite
  • Able to work in team environments
  • Ability to collect requirements, design and configure manufacturing execution systems, manufacturing intelligence tools, process control system historians, and interfaces between these systems and enterprise resource planning systems
  • Appropriate and professional demeanor and appearance
  • Demonstrated success in identifying requirements and subsequent development and implementation of PI Installation and Integration Activities
  • Completion of the following OSIsosft training or demonstrable experience: -PI System Architecture, Planning, and Implementation -Building PI System Assets and Analytics with PI AF -PI System Administration for IT Professionals
Additional Experience Preferred
  • Energy/Utilities experience with application support and development.
  • Technical knowledge of networks and related hardware and software.
  • Technical knowledge of network security.
  • Experience with documenting procedures and best practices.
  • Experience with SCADA systems, electric generating plants, transmission
  • Exposure to Control Logic and P&IDs
  • Exposer to .NET, C-Sharp, VB, Python
Soft Skills:
  • Proficient verbal and written communications skills; able to address business issues and conflicts in a professional, constructive, and non-technical manner; Ability to provide technical training to groups of users.
