Job summary
Consumer Talent Strategy, Management & Development (CTSMD) is looking for an experienced Learning Experience Designer to develop world-class learning solutions for our customers worldwide as part of the Leader Development Products team. In this position, you will be an architect and leader in creating and improving learning products. You will work on instructional design projects that utilize your expertise in learning theory, instructional technologies, and human performance technology to enhance the performance of Amazonians. The solutions you create will enable improved experience, shorten lead times to proficiency. This includes performing needs assessments to identify learning objectives with business stakeholders, designing, testing, and rapidly iterating instructional content for your audience, and developing knowledge and performance observation assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of training.

Candidates should have experience working across multiple global locations, expertise in developing and maintaining strong business relationships, collaborating across different fields of expertise, and implementing learning project plans. This individual must thrive in a fast-paced environment and develop innovative solutions.

The role can be based in Seattle, Nashville, or at one of our regional office locations. Virtual locations will be considered.

Key job responsibilities
Being successful on this team requires the ability to:

  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand program goals and identify learning needs mapped to business outcomes.
  • Determine and recommend performance objectives, learning strategies, and evaluation plan based on the business and learner needs.
  • Design and develop performance-focused learning content that engages our learners, ensuring content is ready for localization and deployment in international marketplaces.
  • Develop compelling learning experiences using the appropriate modalities such as ILT and VILT classroom training, blended learning, interactive eLearning and simulations, video learning, gamification, and performance support aids.
  • Design and develop knowledge checks and skills assessments to measure the learning outcomes.
  • Manage your projects amidst ambiguity, competing priorities, and challenging deadlines with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Travel may be required up to 10%
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • BA or BS degree in a relevant field such as instructional technology, educational technology, etc., or comparable work experience.
  • 3+ years of work experience with career progression in the field of instructional including significant experience in designing and delivering training solutions to large organizations.
  • 3+ years project management skills including, planning work, managing details, keeping multiple tasks/projects on track, using time well, working with stakeholders, and doing whatever it takes to deliver reliable results.
  • 3+ years demonstrated experience developing self-paced eLearning curricula, storyboards, job aids, online tutorials, and assessments
  • Extensive experience with authoring tools, such as Articulate 360, Lectora, Vyond, or similar technology.
  • Advanced Multi-media development in audio, video, and/or animation (e.g. Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Experience with emerging trends for content creation (e.g. gamification, virtual reality, augmented reality, xAPI).
  • Basic web development experience (HTML, Java, CSS).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in related field
  • Industry certifications in instructional curriculum performance improvement, project management, and content-specific certifications as appropriate (e.g. CPLP, CPT, PMP, etc.).
  • Experience developing global training content for localization to multiple languages/cultures.
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
