Job Summary: Under the general direction of the Legal & Business Affairs department, our legal/attorney positions will support designated Universal Parks & Resorts’ theme park operations by negotiating, drafting and interpreting complex commercial contracts, letter agreements, service contracts, licenses and other legal documentation, managing compliance and regulatory requirements, contractual obligations and dispute resolution.

ATTORNEY

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide legal support for designated client(s)/business unit(s) within Universal Parks and Resorts by negotiating, drafting and interpreting commercial contracts covering topics such as technology, marketing and sales, intellectual property, licensing, promotions, leasing, construction and a variety of commercial services.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate contracting policies and procedures. Participate in the development of training materials surrounding contractual compliance, licensing requirements, regulatory obligations and required internal approvals.
  • Provide oversight and management and tracking of corporate compliance, including contractual commitments.
  • Identify and implement efficiencies in contracting procedures, balancing risk tolerance with business initiatives.
EDUCATION: Juris Doctor or LLM required from an accredited law school

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Member of State Bar (Florida or California preferred).

EXPERIENCE: At least 1 year post-law school experience, as an attorney, preferably with a law firm or corporate legal department, interpreting, negotiating and drafting complex commercial transactions.

SR. ATTORNEY

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

DIRECTOR, LEGAL & BUSINESS AFFAIRS

  • Provide supervision and guidance to attorneys and/or contract administrators in connection with the foregoing matters
  • Identify and implement efficiencies in contracting procedures, balancing risk tolerance with business initiatives.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Member of State Bar (Florida or California preferred).

  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
