Job Information

Earn $350,000 annually, plus paid vacation, sick days and paid holidays; and we offer medical packages and 401K.

The Medical Doctor will assist with overseeing medical services provided to each youth. He/she will ensure all regulations and systems are in place to meet the NYS DOH standards. The Part Time MD will support and initially treat any medical needs required by youth, traveling when necessary to each New York City location.

HOURS PER WEEK: Non-Exempt

  • 40 hours a week
  • Weekend and some night availability required
FUNCTIONS:
  • Perform clinical supervision of medical team, ensuring high quality medical services are provided
  • Conduct initial medical assessments for each youth in the New York City programs
  • Diagnose and treat basic medical conditions for each youth
  • Refer youth to appropriate medical specialties
  • Write prescriptions
  • Analyze reports, test results, medical records and examinations to diagnose condition of the youth and propose treatment options.
  • Conduct follow-up services for youth
  • Ensure proper documentation is completed for medical services
  • Discuss medical conditions of program youth with ORR and the FFS
  • Advise on purchase of medical equipment
  • Lead planning for the development of medical team
  • Serve as a liaison between medical staff and administration
Experience and Skills:
  • M.D. degree required
  • Experience in clinical medicine preferred
  • Pediatrics experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills and ability to work in a flexible team context
  • Valid NYS Driver's License
  • Ability to travel to all agency locations
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Word processing: Including responding to e-mails, composing letters, completing computerized documentation, transcribing minutes for meetings, etc.: This involves sitting at a computer for several hours a day
  • Completing paperwork -Such as copying and stapling
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Stand for several hours to teach/train foster parents
  • Sit/ride in vehicles, busses, subways, trains, planes - public transportation for lengthy periods of time
  • Walk up/down stairs
  • Walk to enter/exit subway and other public transportation
  • Walk several blocks to get to required location
