Command Services & Support, Inc. (CMDSS) has an opening for several Network Engineers (Jr/Journeyman/Sr/SME levels). These positions require an active DoD TOP SECRET clearance on Day 1 without exception.
The position will support the client with IT system access by providing connectivity to all divisional site locations to maintain IT communications. Network services will focus on ensuring reliability and high availability to maintain secure system access for all end users and applications. Network Management System support will assist with tracking network performance, outage notifications, and usage statistics to maintain RPM metrics to help ensure key system access for USMS mission support. At a minimum, activities shall include:
Troubleshoot with the wide area network (WAN) service provider on circuit outages or performance issues to maintain telecommunication connectivity to all locations;
Configure and provide on-going maintenance across all wide area and local area network devices;
Maintain high availability VoIP system access and connectivity for all divisional site locations and users;
Perform security reviews and implementation of base device configurations using Department of Justice (DOJ), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Committee on National Security Systems Instruction (CNSSI) and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) security requirements guides (SRG)/security technical implementation guide (STIG) guidelines for security hardening;
Provide ongoing maintenance of device baselines and templates for all device configurations;
Assist the USMS Communications Security (COMSEC) Office with configuration and ongoing maintenance of all divisional COMSEC issued devices;
Configure and provide ongoing support of a Network Management System to provide outage alerting, usage reporting, and ongoing device management to maintain system uptime, compliance, and device security;
Assist with deploying updated crypto technologies to support higher bandwidth utilization and network growth;
Accomplish procurement tasks related to providing cost/quote information back to the government for processing;
Support physical changes or expansion of existing network presence, that includes relocation of equipment and bandwidth expansion efforts;
Develop and maintain network architecture diagrams, baseline configurations, and as-built documentation, and;
Actively monitor the Black and Red networks from a central Network Operations Center for at least a minimum of outages, fault identification, performance management, and maintaining quality of service (QoS); Notify the Service Desk of an any outages as required tracking and notification in 3.6.2 Service Desk; After returning from nonscheduled hours Review logs for at least a minimum of outages, fault identification, performance management, and maintaining quality of service (QoS); Notify the Service Desk of an any current outages as required tracking and notification in 3.6.2 Service Desk;
Architect, design, implement, and test disaster recovery operations and capabilities
Years of experience requirements are determined by a combination of the level of the position and level of education (or equivalent additional years of experience substitution).
Junior: 0-3 Years
Journeyman: 4-8 Years + B.A.*
Senior: 9-15 Years + B.A.*
SME: 15+ Years + Masters*
*Additional years of experience can substitute for level of education.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) (higher certifications required for more experience positions)
