Legal Assistant-Probate-Estate Administration (Full-Time)

Cary Estate Planning

Seeking a Motivated Probate Legal Assistant
Our fast-paced Estate Planning and Estate Administration Law Firm in Cary is growing and we are looking to hire a hardworking and detail-oriented full-time Probate Legal Assistant.

You will be required to work 3-4 days a week in our Raleigh office and the other day(s) will have the option to work from home. We offer competitive pay, performance-based bonuses, unlimited PTO, 401k with employer match, Health Insurance, Dental and Vision Insurance, and long-term and short-term disability.

Are you passionate about helping people have peace of mind?
We are looking for an eager Legal Assistant to grow our Estate Administration legal team. We need someone who is motivated, hard-working and has an ownership mentality. While previous legal experience is a bonus, no legal experience is required and we will train the right person.

When our clients hire us, they are going through a difficult time, and they’re expecting premium client service and an efficient resolution of their estate administration matter. Our clients are often dealing with a lawyer for the first time and are dealing with new concepts. They are also experiencing an overwhelming tragedy in the loss of a loved one. Our ideal candidate is comfortable interacting with clients on the phone and through email on a daily basis and is professional and caring during in-person meetings with our clients. They will ask a lot of questions. You should be empathetic and patient as you will be answering many questions that have already been asked.

Our Legal Assistant will provide support to our Estate Administration legal team by assisting with the drafting of probate documents under the direction of our experienced Probate Attorney, providing consistent communication to our clients by email and phone regarding their matter status, keeping accurate case project management, printing and preparing probate documents for signing appointments, and assembling packages for submission to the court. Our Assistant will also support office operations by maintaining the office supply inventory, checking and scanning the mail, and ensuring that our overall office is clean and organized.

This position requires a combination of empathy, attention to detail, strong work ethic, high-level client service mentality, teamwork, time management, managing deadlines, active listening, attention to instructions, and resourcefulness. Most importantly, you need to have compassion when dealing with our clients. To put it simply, we want you to do good work and rally around our clients to help solve their legal problems. We want people who want to make a positive difference in our little piece of the world.

  • Drafting of probate documents
  • Providing consistent communication to our clients by email and phone regarding their matter status
  • Keeping accurate case project management and managing deadlines
  • Printing and preparing probate documents for signing appointments and assembling packages for submission to the court
  • Scanning and copying
  • You should have excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Prefer at least 1 year of experience working in an office setting and have general office clerical skills, including copying, scanning, and printing
  • You are able to meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • You have the ability to work in the Raleigh office 3-4 days per week
  • You should be comfortable with a computer and have excellent spelling and grammar
  • A penchant for accuracy and attention to detail is required
  • You will be working on many tasks and cases concurrently, over long periods of time. We expect you to keep track of key dates, keep the right people informed, and prioritize your time so that we never miss a deadline
  • You should treat a client, matter, or task at 4:30 PM on Friday with the same care and compassion as one on Monday morning at 9 AM
  • Your middle name is “No Drama”
  • You are an awesome juggler of tasks and can change gears quickly
  • You do not think mailing, scanning, and copying are “beneath you”
  • The ideal candidate will have a growth mindset, show incredible attention to detail, have an ability to relate with people who have a lot of questions, and have a good sense of humor
