What will you be doing?

The position is responsible for developing and maintaining systems, programming and reconfiguring systems, and performing IT support tasks. This position will write, test, debug, and maintain the detailed computer programs used at the Transportation Technologies facilities. Systems within the responsibility of this position will include; server side web technologies (C#, ASP.NET, SQL), and developing the client side (such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and JSON) and understands how they all work together. As a full stack developer, the candidate will have an opportunity to dive into multiple languages, keeping their skills sharp and ready for whatever is next. We work very closely with our in-house engineers so great communication is a must.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Write, adjust, develop, and debug the source code. The programmer will review and make changes to programs to suit the needs of the Operations. This position requires considerable skills for web-based programming.
  • Create a library of source code that can be modified or customized for a specific application.
  • Develop web based operational forms and tools.
  • Communicate project status to other team members and management throughout the planning and implementation process.
  • Within guidelines provided, identify, properly document, and recommend changes to the software design.
  • Perform other work as required.
What qualifications do you need?
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field OR High School Diploma (GED) with equivalent experience.
  • Experience in computer programming using programs such as Assembly, COBOL, C, C++, C#, Java, LabView, Lisp, Python, Azure, Angular/React, Manually writing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code, Designing AJAX requests with JSON, An eye for UI/UX design would all be beneficial.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent skills in troubleshooting programs.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking role.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals.
  • Ability to make technical decisions and engineering judgments independently with established parameters.
  • Ability to travel as business needs dictate.
