CultureWorks is the holding company, management and development platform for culture, experience and hospitality brands. Our portfolio consists of kindred companies with intellectually curious audiences, who are shaping the future of how we gather, work, connect, and experience the arts together.
NeueHouse
NeueHouse is the private workspace and cultural home for creators, innovators, and thought leaders. Currently operating across three different, but equally iconic properties in New York City and Los Angeles, NeueHouse will welcome forthcoming houses in Venice Beach, Miami, and is considering expansion to several key European locales. Regardless of locale, and by deliberate design, all of our environment and teams support, nurture and connect the NeueHouse community in reaching their creative potential.
Fotografiska
Anything but an ordinary museum, in 2010 Fotografiska was founded in Stockholm and in late 2019 opened its newest outpost in a treasured, historic landmark building in NYC's Flatiron District. The iconic NYC and Stockholm locations are complemented by expansion in Tallinn, and a forthcoming Berlin museum set to open in 2022. Fotografiska's goals are simple: to inspire a more conscious world through the power of photography, to bring people together, raise awareness and create positive change. The Museum showcases the greatest photographers, whether they are emerging artists or already established internationally.
The Role
The Regional Director of People + Culture for CultureWorks in LA leads day-to-day HR initiatives for our Hollywood and Bradbury NeueHouse properties and will assume responsibility for our forthcoming Venice Beach House. Should a Fotografiska Museum ever take root in LA, the Regional Director would have the opportunity to oversee that property and assist those teams, as well.
The Regional Director is a key contributor, guide, and leader within our People + Culture team and across the organization. Reporting directly into the NYC-based Chief People Officer and advising property general management (AGM, GM) in LA, the Regional Director relies on and coaches a People + Culture Manager daily, has the immediate support of the VP of Talent on all talent acquisition and development matters, finds balance in a peer role based out of NYC, and of course the rest of our growing internationally HR team is at the ready for a bit of advice or an extra hand. Ongoing focuses are employee relations for a dynamic hospitality team managing multiple venues, recruiting for property-level talent across departments, delivering a premier onboarding and orientation experience to new hires, managing the influx of employee questions associated with ramping up post-COVID, and creating a supportive + kind employee relations culture.
The growth of the CultureWorks platform in both NeueHouse and Fotografiska means a high-functioning and engaged People + Culture team is a top priority. The Regional Director holds neutrality as a key value in their HR practice, knows there is “no task too big or too small,” treats obstacles as opportunities, leads with patience and kindness, goes the extra distance to provide detail and discretion in their work, and manages to pivot across multiple projects and priorities with ease.

The Regional Director may benefit from prior experience or exposure to hospitality, food + beverage, lifestyle, luxury or immersive/experiential brands

Partner closely with key leaders to advise and coach them on creating, implementing, and driving a talent agenda and strategy for the organization
Excellent judgment in difficult situations, the ability to remain neutral and provide guidance to employees at all levels of the business, discretion in managing confidential and sensitive information + data
Working with multiple teams (Member Experience, Membership Development, F+B, Facilities + Operations, Events and Event Production, Private Events Sales, etc), the Regional Director must be skilled at executing clear HR strategy + initiatives, process and project management, and dealing gracefully with ambiguity and rapid change
Use data and anecdotal insights to build a values-driven culture; help to action these insights by implementing refined HR process and procedure
Ability to conceptualize, plan, and implement new projects and programs, work independently in ambiguous and uncertain environments, build relationships and serve as a trusted advocate by leaders, employees, and the business
Put our values and equity into every interaction, communication and touchpoint. Hospitality, as it does on our properties, should inform each process, pipeline, and outcome, turning our teams into brand ambassadors for CultureWorks, NeueHouse and Fotografiska
As new properties come online in the region - both for NeueHouse and Fotografiska - the Regional Director must be prepared to advise on and guide the growth of our teams
Be prepared to discuss ongoing performance, special projects, and to address any other issues/topics that may be brought up as the CultureWorks platforms scale
