Job Information

The Senior Financial Analyst will assist in the preparation of reports to summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations. The Analyst will assist in the audits of the company's Coop accounts and will be responsible for providing a broad spectrum of operations and financial analysis, inventory control and management, and administrative support services.

Duties:

  • Develop financial analysis, challenging assumptions and validating deliverables
  • Provide support in developing and maintaining repeatable process and methodology for standard cadence of economic tracking
  • Perform necessary business analytics to validate key initiatives
  • Conduct operational and financial analysis of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine company's progress toward long-range goals and objectives
  • Actively participate in the company's strategic pursuit of profitable sales growth
  • Audit/Evaluate processes for tight expense controls
  • Assist with the monthly close process in a timely manner
  • Responsible for conducting and documenting the vendor co-op/rebate process.
  • Analyzes and reports actual savings achieved by vendor in comparison to established goals.
  • Track and report savings achieved by vendor based on economic pipeline
  • Identifies, assesses and communicates issues affecting credits from vendors.
  • Provide support in creating insightful, opportunity-identifying vendor-level reporting especially as it relates to sales and margin
  • Interact with vendors on key deliverables as necessary
  • Prepares various reporting as required for senior leadership.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • Must be a problem-solver and be able to function in a high volume, fast-paced environment that serves many high-profile internal customers
  • Ability to think analytically and creatively
  • Ability to communicate in an effective and clear manner with leaders and vendors, fully capable of taking a stand built on a fact-based, experienced foundation
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task, taking accountability for driving the completion of insightful, influencing reports and presentations
  • Budgeting, project evaluation and spend/cost analysis skills required, knowing how to rise above significant detail to create insights, conclusions, actions
  • Ability to lead projects and work with others cross-functionally to determine the best course of action for getting results and generating solutions Excellent PC skills: proficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint a must
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, highly motivated and a self-starter
  • Exhibits leadership competencies and professional maturity in dealing with w/peers, leaders and customers
