Job Description

This position requires a U.S. person or the ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate government agency for non-U.S. persons.

Raytheon Intelligence and Space business unit is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to work on Radar Systems, Command and Control Systems and embedded processor product development. The work will be full time on Advanced Concept Technology Development to invent, innovate and advance technology to unique technical solutions with state of the art processors within system on a chip hardware components. The candidate will be central to systems design and integration working closely with systems engineers, mechanical engineers, analogy signal processing engineers and firmware engineers. A cross discipline team to support a technically rich engineering development effort.

The candidate is responsible for developing software requirements derived from system level requirements, developing associated software architectures, implementing design, code development, and unit test in a laboratory setting. He/she will work with latest technology trends in microprocessor, memory, FPGA and interface protocols. The candidate will work in the product development team environment to being a rich engineering design experience. This position may require occasional business related travel.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in software design and testing, or 4 years with a related Master’s degree
  • Experience with microprocessor, FPGAs, memory management, block diagrams and design review practices
  • Hands-on experience in testing of products using bench top laboratory equipment
  • Experience with interfaces and bus standards such as: PCI, PCIe, and Gb Ethernet
  • Experience designing with Xilinx and/or Intel (Altera) system on a chip products
  • Possess skills to handle fast pace and dynamic product development environment
  • Strong team player with good interpersonal skills as well as effective written and excellent verbal communication skills
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
  • A deep desire to learn and engage in complex system design that connects imagination with reality
Desired Skills:
  • Experience designing with embedded microprocessors
  • Interest in taking on the most difficult problems to solve
Required Education:
Bachelors of Science degree in Software Engineer, Computer Science, Mathematics (with programming skills) or Electrical Engineering

Desired Education:
Master of Science degree or PhD in Software Engineer, Computer Science, Mathematics (with programming skills) or Electrical Engineering
