What does a great Software Architect do?

This position will work with the Business, Enterprise Architecture, and Development teams to:

  • Design Enterprise security platforms
  • Prototype and develop new security related applications
The Architect will be responsible for establishing and implementing a new open banking security platform. A successful candidate will partner with both technical and product teams to deliver high quality solutions, as part of an Agile release cycle that meets the needs of our growing business as we look to evolve our current on-premise data solutions to Cloud scale architecture.

The Architect will be responsible for system architectures as it relates to security for the new Open Banking solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish the long-term strategic goals for application architecture vision and data standards for Bank Solutions.
  • Document the application architecture and application environment to maintain a current and accurate view of the larger data picture.
  • Establish end to end vision on how the logical design translates into the enterprise security solution for Open Banking.
  • Create strategies and plans for capacity planning, data security, life cycle data management, and business continuity.
  • Collaborate with project managers, business leaders and other stakeholders.
  • Research new Cloud Native Database technologies.
  • Perform critical scalability testing and apply necessary database optimization
Basic Qualifications for Consideration:
  • Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, Data Science, or Engineering
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in designing and documenting conceptual, logical and physical data models, data dictionaries, entity-relationship diagrams, and hands on experience with traditional relational database technologies such as SQL Server, PostgresSQL, Oracle, and MySQL.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience with implementing fit-for-purpose strategies for high-availability, disaster recovery, data retention, and back-up.
Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education:
  • Experience with API layer utilizing data access frameworks and exposing data via services.
  • Demonstrated competency in communicating the value of application architecture to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to develop and conduct executive level presentations.
  • Experience with various data security practices, especially in a heavily regulated environment.
This is a hands-on role as we are in the initial POC and build phases so experience in:
  • Coding in: Java, Spring Data, Scala, Python
  • CI/CD: Build, Test, and Deployment of Data Architecture components
Travel required: 15% Percentage/frequency of travel
