The team you'll be joining is the Amazon Integrations team which is focused on leveraging Amazon systems and tech to improve Goodreads experiences. Currently the team is working on Goodreads Catalog integration which is critical to further Amazon integrations including Search, Personalization, Authors etc

As a Software Development Engineer, you will work backward from the customer to improve the Goodreads experience. You will be involved in the full software development process including design, implementation, and maintenance of critical systems with high throughput. You will have the opportunity to learn new programming languages and dive into topics like security, scalability, API design, search, and grow as a leader on your team. You will be expected to work in a heterogeneous environment of different languages and technologies and bring flexibility, speed, and quality to our team. The successful candidate will thrive in a culture of experimentation and innovation, but also have a proven track record of delivering results to solve challenging problems.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Programming experience with at least one software programming language.
  • 1+ years of experience in software development
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· A BS in Computer Science or a related degree.
· Experience with React or other modern javascript frameworks.
· Experience with GraphQL and API development.
· Experience in working on distributed and large scale applications.
· Experience in developing micro-services and its platform capabilities.
· Experience with NoSQL AWS data stores like DynamoDB, CloudSearch or their open source equivalents like Cassandra, HBase, Solr or ElasticSearch
· Experience with MySQL, Redis, Memcache and related web-backend technologies.
· Experience building web applications, widgets, or interactive experiences.
