The Sr. Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, submitting proposals, and winning new business that will allow MDC to achieve its year over year revenue and profitability growth targets while also providing these customers with solutions that meet and exceed their business objectives. The Business Development Manager will represent our entire range of products and services and will coordinate field activity, marketing activity and quoting activity to ensure that sales and customer service expectations are met. The Sr. Business Development Manager sill be handling complex accounts and will be required to provide innovative solutions and ability to use varying approaches to resolve complex problems.

Your responsibilities:

  • Actively looks for new business opportunities within defined markets, territories or accounts. This includes existing products, new product introductions, and R&D offerings
  • Develop a deep understanding of MDC’s product offerings, and identify new customers which would benefit from these product offerings
  • Ensure strategic account plans are developed and continually updated in line with the Company’s strategic plans and with alignment with our customer’s needs and expectations.
  • Provide marketing proposals and overall direction to be subject to review by manager.
  • Analyze sales and marketing data to determine the most effective strategies to increase sales.
  • Prepares and delivers sales presentations, contracts, and proposals.
  • Records sales activities in the customer relationship management system.
  • Keeps customers regularly updated on product and market developments.
  • Develops an understanding of customers' needs and problems and prepares solutions. Educates customers on how our products can benefit them financially and professionally.
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, lead times, and marketing efforts.
  • Cold calls companies per MDC Strategic Plan, establishes need and sets brand awareness with targets.
  • Strategically negotiates with potential customers to close sales.
  • Develop innovative solutions to unusually complex problems.
  • Resolve conflicts between varying approaches.
  • Exert influence in the development of overall objectives and long-rage goals of the organization.
  • Significantly impact decisions within a site and/or global function.
  • Provide regular feedback from customers in order to help shape technical and capability roadmap.
  • Serve as an organizational spokesperson on advanced projects, programs, operational decisions, and contractual clarifications.
  • Travels within assigned territory to conduct face-to-face meetings with existing and potential customers by planning and organizing daily work schedule
Requirements for the role:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a science related field
  • Independent and solutions driven to drive new business growth
  • Experience working in a product manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to read and interpret engineering specifications
  • A proven track record of creating and delivering territory sales plans with an ability to work collaboratively with customers to understand their requirements, and internal teams to develop solutions
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to sell technical products and solutions, and extract commercial value
  • Ability to grow revenue and profit within a business
  • Ability to create and sustain customer relationships
