Job Description

Purpose of position:

Provide accounting, reporting, and analytical analysis for a variety of Corporate Accounting activities including Capital projects, Business Line and Marketing detail reports, Capital Leases, Debt and Interest, and other functions as needed.

Essential Job Functions:

General Ledger – Run Treasury Module journal entries in SAP for debt and interest and ensure accuracy before posting.

Capital Projects- Review and coordinate the submission, tracking, and approval of Capital Projects, working closely with the management team on a daily basis.

Weekly/Period/Quarterly Reporting – Prepare and record journal entries for several accounts activity for the period. Review assigned accounts to ensure they are properly stated. Prepare weekly and period reporting for certain marketing groups as well as business line reporting.

Annual Audit – Assist and support manager with annual audit duties. This would include preparing support schedules, account confirmations, balance sheet roll forwards and other support documentation requested by external auditors.

Forecast – Assist in aggregating data for Annual SG&A forecast. Assist in the review of actual to forecast SG&A variances on a period basis, including providing meaningful explanations for variances.

Balance Sheet Account Reviews – Work with manager on reviewing and communicating to management status of AAW’s prepared by field accountants. This will include reviewing AAW’s for accuracy, inquiring about account balances and how transactions are posted, recommending suggestions and communicating status of reviews to management.

Board Book – Assist in preparations of assigned board book schedules

Other - Participation with system and process initiatives and ad hoc projects as assigned by the Manager

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

BS in Accounting or Finance

One-three years of Accounting/Financial analysis experience, preferably in food or consumer goods industry.

Strong accounting skills and sound understanding of financial statements

Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP, COGNOS)

Ability and willingness to learn new computer software and systems.

Excellent verbal, written, analytical & communication skills.

Preferred Requirements:

CPA preferred

One-two year’s public accounting experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Must have reliable transportation.

Must be able to have consistent attendance.

Must be able to sit for long periods of time.

Must be able to work on the computer for long periods of time
