About the Role:

  • Responsible for accurately recording transactions, analyze activity for trends and assist Senior Accountant / Controller with producing accurate and timely financial statements and other required reports
  • Key liaison between Accounting, Operations, and Procurement to coordinate the annual standard cost process for all Precision Planting products
What would I be doing?
  • Key role in understanding Precision Planting’s cost of goods including analysis of actual manufacturing costs, fixed vs. variable costs, and standard costs variances
  • Calculate the standard labor and overhead rates twice a year after analyzing manufacturing costs and inputs
  • Analyze actual operating costs and prepares and evaluate monthly operations / supply chain metrics to track results versus goals for management
  • Review supporting documentation for orders being financed and follow-up as needed to obtain additional details
  • Review supporting documentation for grower & dealer rebates and follow-up as needed to obtain additional details
  • Respond to information requests and assist with preparation for internal and external audits
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations and assist with monthly close processes
  • Prepare monthly files for sales and use tax filings
  • Review and audit vendor changes weekly to ensure there is supporting documentation for the update
  • Reconcile bank statement monthly
What must I have?
  • 3+ years of Accounting or Finance experience
  • Previous experience in cost accounting
  • Solid financial knowledge including GAAP
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Results oriented- Autonomous and self-driven with an “act as owner” mentality. Problem solving skills
  • Agility- ability to perform in ambiguous situations often with incomplete information
  • Willingness to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and changing priorities
  • Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Desire to drive continuous process improvements
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Problem-solving experience, and willingness to learn

What other specific skills & experiences would be good for me to have?
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP & Tableau
  • CPA, CMA or MBA a plus
